Mule Cube is fully open source. If you have the technical skills and time, you can build one yourself from scratch — completely free.
We provide everything you need: complete source code, detailed documentation, parts lists with links, and installation scripts.
What You’ll Need
Hardware (you source yourself):
- Raspberry Pi 5 (4GB or 8GB RAM recommended)
- High-quality microSD card (512GB, A2-rated recommended)
- Power supply (27W USB-C)
- Case and cooling solution
- Optional: UPS battery board for portable use
Skills:
- Comfortable with Linux command line
- Basic networking knowledge
- Patience for downloading and configuring datasets (~200GB+)
Time:
- Initial setup: 2-4 hours
- Dataset downloads: 8-24 hours (depending on connection)
- Configuration and testing: 2-4 hours
